Novotel Melbourne on Collins - Review

  You’ll never guess this but the Novotel Melbourne on Collins is in Collins Street, Melbourne. In fact it is incorporated in the Australia on Collins shopping mall so you don’t have to go out into the weather to get takeaway or do your quality shopping. The hotel is classy and the rooms are well appointed.
I have always liked swimming here. Mind you it’s not a big pool but you can float around while looking up at the sky above and look down at shoppers while taking a break next to the pool. There are plenty of extra towels around so you don’t need to bring a beach towel. For those wanting to keep fit there is a gymnasium with the opportunity to hire a personal trainer or even get a yoga lesson in your room.
The rooms offer a well stocked mini bar and a delicious room service menu is available if you are prepared to pay for it. The beds are soft and very comfortable with the flat screen offering good viewing while lying down. Michelle’s Restaurant adjoins the foyer with meals throughout the day and a bar at the front. An extensive buffet breakfast is on offer that seemed to satisfy the people enjoying it.
I have been to this hotel several times and give it a very good rating in accommodation and facilities. The only disappointment has been the reception staff that has been far from friendly or helpful and the internet doesn’t allow you to log on and off – it goes from the time you logon whether you are using it or not.
Overall you would be hard up to find a better hotel in such a great location.
