Four Gold Stars to Bendigo again.  During the worst drought in a hundred years their city just looks better and better.  Driving into the city you will notice flower beds full of colour, the city has even filled the central fountain with plants rather than leave it empty (they are not aloud to use it during restrictions).  If you haven't been to bendigo before you don't know what you are missing out on.  Magnificent heritage buildings, tree lined streets and fantastic street-side cafes.

Bendigo was built on a heritage rich in mining - there was gold in them there hills and it's very easy to see the influence through town design and heritage buildings.  The city region is abundant in buildings that are very well kept, still boasting the year they were built proudly on their frontage.  The streets are lined with large shady deciduous trees and the botanical gardens beckon from across the city.

Must Try Dining

Cafe Au Lait
Cafe Au Lait is a gem central to the Bendigo City precinct.  Offering gourmet lunches, snacks and cakes it is a must on a visit to Bendigo.  The cafe can become very crowded at peak times with dining inside and out the front.  Don't despair if it looks crowded as there's usually a space down the laneway to the side.
